Have you ever wanted to just walk away from your present life to think?
Well, these two men did. In 1958, William “Red Dog” Tynan decided he wasn’t ready for marriage, kids and the little house in the San Fernando Valley. William Bates on the other hand, already was in that situation. When Red Dog decided he wanted to take a walk to Mexico City, Bates asked if he could come along.
With a few dollars, a few belongings and Red Dog’s camera, they headed from Los Angeles to Mexico City on foot, only kind of travel they could afford. Along the way they met the most amazing Mexican people who without their kindness and generosity, these two men would have been lost and hungry many a day.
They did indeed make the 2300 miles, wore out 12 pairs of shoes and gained an experience they would remember for the rest of their lives. William “Red Dog” Tynan, a great story teller, now tells their story through his tales and his amazing photography in this documentary that is now in production.
It will give you pause to think, would you do it?
